The Question Is...

... not whether I will become insufferable, but just how insufferable I will become.

I just got a fitbit thing.  And I'm unreasonably excited.

It's charging now.

I love toys.  I hope I love this one in the long run.  (Some toys I do, some not so much.)

Best toys?  Bike, skis, kayak, car, camera, snowshoes, computer.  Will the fitbit fit on that list?  It's more of an auxiliary toy, no?

So, if you have a fitbit, do you have advice or thoughts for me?

I am aware of this funny piece by David Sedaris, at least.  Maybe that will help me be less obnoxious?

  1. Proud member of the Fitbit cult here. I don't pay as much attention to the online stats as I ought to, but it's still gratifying to know the 10,000 steps = mission accomplished.

I read the Sedaris piece a few months ago, and--do not go down the road where you are walking 9 hours a day. That only works for famous authors.

  2. The real question is whether you want to be my FitBit friend! I find the slight competition of having friends who are a little more fit than I am very helpful. (I ignore the stats of those friends who are way more fit than I am -- too much pressure.)

  3. What Now, How would one do that, because I'd be happy to be your fitbit friend!

  4. Send me an email with your email address (which for some reason I don't seem to have -- maybe it's on my old computer?) and I'll send you an invite.
