I think this is a female Baltimore Oriole, but I could be wrong.
And this is a Brown Thrasher nest, in a friend's yard, in some weeds right next to the patio. The parents run off if you go at all near, but don't stay away long, and seem pretty calm about it all.
Yes, that's a female oriole. How pretty.

Agree -- it's an oriole. Great photo.
ReplyDeleteMy hesitation is between a female Baltimore Oriole and a female Orchard Oriole. I'm not confident at telling them apart unless I'm seeing both more often than I have so far this season.
