Text o' the Day: "Before the Film"

What text am I teaching this week?

  1. Faerie Queene? I seem to have a dim memory of a character who keeps getting his limbs chopped off, Monty-Python-style...

  2. Titus Adronicus? But I'm only guessing that because I saw a production in Ashland, Oregon that was played for laughs. And was actually hilarious.

  3. Beowulf? A bit late in the semester for that, though.

  4. I thought Beowulf, too, because of the missing arm.

  5. I think this is more obscure than the usual.

It's the Orgoglio fight in the Faerie Queene (as Fretful said), with Orgoglio and his massive club, and little RC. If I'd drawn a shield in there with the red cross, you guys would have gotten it right off, I bet! (And Fretful did, anyway.)
