Here's one last set, another from indoors.
You folks are getting really close! Indeed, this is a Mediterranean type climate, with lots of purposeful plantings. It isn't San Francisco, nor is it the Getty. (Looking at the pictures makes me want to visit there, too!)
Hearst Castle.
ReplyDeleteThat would explain why the tower in The first picture looked familiar-- I've only ever seen the outside. I thought I'd been on a tour once when I was little, but surely I would have remembered all that blue!
ReplyDeleteYay Dame Eleanor! Good job!
ReplyDeleteAnd you, too, NandM! You might not have gone down to the Roman baths when you went. You usually get only a small selection on a tour, and they change them over the years.
Well there's a bay in SoCal, so I was partly right in saying it was A bay area. It just wasn't THE Bay Area. :) I could have sworn that was the Legion of Honor.
ReplyDeleteI know you already have a winner, but I just wanted to say that I've never forgotten those alabaster globes from my trip there in 1980 at age 11. Very cool! Will consider making a return trip next year while at the Huntington. . .
ReplyDeleteI have always, always wanted to go to Hearst Castle. Thanks for the pictures.
