If it's June, it Must be Dairy Month!

It's dairy month, and that means Belgian waffles, maple syrup, and whipped cream.

Yes, that's my breakfast.  It was good.  It was very good.

And these are cheese curds, some of the best I've ever had.  They were piping hot, melty, and very lightly breaded, and they were oh so good!

And here are some of our hosts!

Curious Cow

On the left is cotton seed, then ground corn, and ground soy (if I'm recalling correctly).

This cow is waiting in line to be milked.  (Doesn't that look so uncomfortable?)
Washing up!
Snacking During Milking
They had a really interesting display of cow food.  On the left is corn silage, the right is hay silage.

On the left is cotton seed, then ground corn, and ground soy (if I'm recalling correctly).  The amounts are (the explainer said) about what one cow eats per day.  Pounds and pounds of this!

A good time was had by all, at least it seemed so!

  1. They FRY cheese curd? I have never heard of that but am a cheese curd fan from way back. The louder the squeak, the fresher the curd.

Yep, deep fried cheese curds. If there is another place that takes fat and then deep fries it for that extra squeak, I've never been there....
