It's one of those things where both people need to reach out a bit. Happily, most of my students are really wonderful people and teach me a lot, too.

ps. Math isn't that hard!!! And it makes so much sense of the world, especially when you get to calc and statistics. Econ, too!!!Bardiachttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11846065504793800266noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17974015.post-81279499440337171052007-04-23T17:13:00.000-07:002007-04-23T17:13:00.000-07:00My problem is with most advisors I've had to see i...My problem is with most advisors I've had to see is that they are not help what so ever. It is just another hoop to jump through when I register.

It took me four tries to get my current advisor to understand that I was a straight History B.A and three to get her to actually tell me what I had to do to pention for a class to be accpeted.

She's also fond of telling me that math really isn't that hard and that I should take Spanish becuase it's easier than Latin.

Needless to say I avoid her like crazy. I'd love an avdisor that would listen to me. I wish I could talk to the other History advisor but so does everyone else it seems.History Geekhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04253687974407447459noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17974015.post-64019362668396447002007-04-23T15:21:00.000-07:002007-04-23T15:21:00.000-07:00I would have given a lot to have an advisor help m...I would have given a lot to have an advisor help me navigate my education. It would have saved me the year between college and med school that I spent napping and fishing!

Also, it would just be nice to have someone who knows what's what sort of help me navigate the system.Midwife with a Knifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04309579302399381913noreply@blogger.com
