I read one of his books because a guy told me it had great female characters, and I remember thinking that the female character was just a male character with an anatomical anomoly convenient to straight men. I should have figured out about the guy from his suggestion, eh? (I did learn, just a bit slowly.)Bardiachttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11846065504793800266noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17974015.post-62475179530147820962007-04-13T06:53:00.000-07:002007-04-13T06:53:00.000-07:00You know, it's kind of similar to the way I felt a...You know, it's kind of similar to the way I felt about Heinlein. I know I see sexism (though not normally that explicit) all over lit and music in the decades leading up to this one, and I still let them off the hook as not really knowing any better.

Hmmmm....Lydiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04240159816950032793noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17974015.post-85868251884115109172007-04-12T15:34:00.000-07:002007-04-12T15:34:00.000-07:00I haven't read Welcome to the Monkey House in many...I haven't read Welcome to the Monkey House in many years, but the theme that I recall about that story (and other stories in that collection) was the rebellion against forced values and regimentation of society. Truth and individuality are necessary.Dulcihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10012400291513834977noreply@blogger.com
